If you’re wandering through the charming streets of Taiping, make sure to stop by Baking Khaki, a delightful café located at 416, Jalan Kamunting, Taman Saujana Kamunting. With its inviting atmosphere and delicious offerings, this gem is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or an afternoon snack.

Baking Khaki specializes in a unique fusion of local and Western flavors, serving up an array of tantalizing dishes that make your taste buds dance. Start your day right with a warm plate of Nasi Lemak, a traditional Malaysian favorite. You can choose the Rendang version for a rich and flavorful experience or opt for the mildly spiced Bertempah at just MYR 23.60. If you’re looking for something light yet fulfilling, the Fresh Baked Bagels are a must-try! From the nutty Poppy Seed and crunchy Sea Salt varieties to the fiery Jalapeño Bagel, each bite is a perfect blend of textures and flavors that will leave you wanting more.

The dining atmosphere at Baking Khaki is equally enjoyable, with a cozy and clean setup that promotes relaxation. The café is run by a friendly young couple who are devoted to and passionate about their craft. LiAnne Ole, a satisfied customer, notes, “It’s a nice, clean, and cozy café” making it an ideal spot to unwind with family and friends.

Don’t forget to indulge in their fabulous bagel sandwiches, such as the BKK Chicken Burger, featuring succulent fried chicken and a burst of flavors from grilled pineapple to crunchy slaw—all for MYR 25.50! Customers rave about the generous portions—Edmund Lee highlights the generous fillings in their bagel sandwiches, providing great value for money.

Of course, no café experience would be complete without a refreshing beverage. Pair your meal with their delightful coffee or a vibrant strawberry yogurt drink, as recommended by cys edi, who shares that it’s “refreshing” after indulging in their delicious treats.

However, be prepared for a minor challenge: as Lim Lim pointed out, the delightful sauces can be a bit messy! But don’t let that deter you; it’s all part of the experience and definitely worth the indulgence.

In short, a trip to Baking Khaki promises not only delicious food but also a warm, friendly environment perfect for enjoying quality time. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Taiping, this café is a must-visit destination on your culinary journey!

I like the bagel here, as well as the ambience inside the shop. Definitely in my list if I pass by Taiping again.

Impressed by this cafe in Taiping/Kamunting area. Friendly staffs, food serving fast, easy to park. Bagel tastes pretty good at reasonable price. but no idea why so many sauce/juice keep flow out and dripping on the floor, hand, shoes It’s quite messy after finish the whole thing.

It’s a nice, clean and cozy cafe ~family run by a young couple who are super friendly. They baked their own bagels (many varieties). Overall, I enjoyed the very berry waffles & lime soda (very refreshing). Bagels are equally good too.

The bagels were nice and have quite the selection of varieties. The fillings for the bagel sandwiches are also very generous and worth the price. They also have a good selection of hot and cold beverages. The atmosphere is very relaxing especially if you cone in the morning for breakfast.
